One begins to daydream about white sandy beaches
and palm trees swaying in warm tropical breezes whilst walking down
the blustery streets of London where the landscape generally, is
several shades of gray?
Andaman White Beach Resort on Naithon Noi Beach in Phuket
is the very image of these escapades and musings. This picture perfect
location was one the sites featured in the now famous movie, ‘The
Beach’.
Individual villas are built on a gently sloping hillside that cascades
down to a fine-grained white sandy beach. The crescent shaped beach
in front of the resort is embraced by wooded promontories on either
side. These outcroppings rise steeply into mountainous terrain behind
the resort, the tall mountains being completely covered in lush
tropical rainforests. As if the setting isn’t idyllic enough,

This tranquil resort is perfect for a relaxing holiday. The General
Manager, Luciano Lazzarin asks clients if the setting is perhaps
too quiet. “The response 99.9% of the time”, says Luciano
is, “this is exactly what we were looking for”. Luciano
brings with him an impressive experience of hotel-management in
the Asia-Pacific region as well as in Europe. His previous postings
include Palma de Mallorca, Spain and The Intercontinental in Bali.
Andaman White Beach Resort opened in December 2001. Although located
on a quiet, secluded stretch of semi-private beach, it is in close
proximity to Phuket Town and Patong
Beach, both only 30 minutes away. The airport is ten minutes
from here. The managing company, CCA, International is based in
Hong
Kong and London. Previously the largest golf courses and private
clubs operator in Asia it is currently expanding into hotel management.
The resort has two types of villas, Beachfront and Seaview. Beachfront
villas are right on the beach and Seaview villas are on the hillside.
The balcony fronting each villa is designed with the concept of
ensuring total privacy. The detached villas have floor to ceiling
windows offering panoramic views of the beach, sea and tropical
gardens. The luxurious bathrooms with sunken bathtubs overlook the
Andaman Sea.
The simplicity of this boutique resort, jungle on one side and crystal
clear azure blue seas on the other is “the perfect setting
for honeymooners,” says Luciano. The resort offers a special
wedding package with an authentic Thai wedding ceremony that takes
place on the beach. “Even the smallest details are considered
in order to make the event a memorable one,” says Luciano.
The future couple are met at the airport upon arrival, are served
welcome drinks in a Mercedes Benz, which transports them to Andaman
White Beach Resort. A cocktail party or a Thai style dinner serving
authentic Thai delicacies follows the ceremony.

The resort has three restaurants. The Coconut Beach Bar at the
swimming pool is an excellent spot for a sundowner followed by a
romantic dinner. There is another restaurant on the hill, near the
reception area. Partially open-air and partially air-conditioned,
these restaurants offer a medley of Thai, Mediterranean and Continental
cuisine.
There is an air-conditioned gym on the same level as the swimming
pool. The gym and adjacent sauna, Jacuzzi and steam rooms are free
to guests. Beyond the sauna is Ylang Spa where the speciality is
The House of Ylang Massage. It is a sensory indulgent massage given
by two therapists working together. They use Thai, Japanese, Shiatsu,
Balinese, Hawaiian Lomi Lomi and Swedish therapies.
Andaman White Beach Resort, with views that people daydream about
and where the sounds of the rainforest blend with the resonance
