As part of the Baan Thai Cherng Lay residential development, this
villa for sale offers privacy, modern style and convenience in a
prestigious location. Nestled against the steep slopes of Surin
Hill this villa offers wonderful views of Surin beach, the Amanpuri
headland and the Andaman Sea.
Initiated by well-known developer Khun Veerasak, Baan Thai Cherng
Lay comprises 29 luxury villas, in the middle of Phuket's famed
'Millionaire's Mile'. Visitors to the estate are immediately taken
with the commanding views from all units. The owner of the villa
featured here, has gone even further to ensure that all areas of
the house have picturesque views of either the sea or the tropical
foliage surrounding the villa. The property is rimmed by a granite
retaining wall and the space between this and the villa has been
filled with lush greenery which has thrived in the tropical climate
to now resemble a rainforest.

The four-bedroom villa is set over two storeys. The upper level
of the property comprises the master suite, one guest bedroom, living
and family/television rooms. The bedroom layouts mirror each other
flanking the central living areas. While the bedrooms are not very
large, both offer wonderful views of the sea and the rainforest
through full length glass windows and doors. The ensuite bathrooms
sit behind the bedrooms and each feature a deep whirlpool bath,
his and her's washbasins and separate shower and toilet cubicles.
The central living and TV rooms are separated by a unique indoor
water feature. A large Buddha statue sits serenely within a deep
pool, looking over the living room, past the swimming pool and out
to sea. The sound of running water in the house adds to the exotic
ambience of the interior design. The interior decoration is cool
and modern, making use of rich red woods for the floors and ceilings
that compliment the predominately black and white furniture. The
colour scheme is simplified by white walls and the green hues of
nature that filter through glass walls used extensively throughout
the villa. The architecture loosely follows the Ayutthaya style,
connecting three shapely roofs high over the living areas and bedrooms.

Outside, the sea view and the swimming pool compete for attention.
Dark tiles add depth to the infinity-edged plunge pool and large
Thai salas sit at either end of the pool offering plentiful shade
on hot, sunny days. These salas are almost identical, however, one
of them has a raised platform while the other is flat and open to
accommodate a dining table. There is a third sala located at the
back of the property; shaded by thick bamboo, this quiet niche has
been used by the current owner as a dedicated massage area. The
outdoor areas are spacious and tastefully decorated with stone carvings
and greenery-like lotus and water lilies.
The two storeys are joined by an external staircase located on
the left side of the property. The lower level is occupied by two
more guestrooms, a storage area and a covered car park. These guestrooms
are quite spacious, each with ensuite bathroom and ample closet
space. The rooms are connected by an internal doorway each with
its own private entrance. The sea view from this level is partially
obstructed by trees but the same design principle of full length
glass doors and windows allows full air circulation and a pleasant
vista of the lands lying between the estate and the beach.
In front of the guestrooms, the stone walkways converge into a
staircase that leads down to the road. This central point of entry
to the villa is decorated with similar stone figures and water plants.
Over the last few years the locale of Surin has undergone something
of a face lift. Increased demand for residential units means that
within the immediate area there are upwards of six high-end residential
estates. With these developments have come shops, services and dining
venues hospitals, shopping and leisure venues as well as a number
of five-star hotels including the Laguna Phuket complex.
This well built and perfectly maintained villa is currently for
sale and interested parties should waste no time as this exotic,
completed property will surely not linger in a hungry market. For
