What makes the Nakalay Spa different from the growing
number of health resorts on Phuket?
The answer starts with the new Manager of the Nakalay Spa, Nikorn
Banjerdhert. Khun Nikorn is well known in the island's health and
beauty industry. He was Spa Operations Manager at the upscale Banyan
Tree Spa for over 4 years.
“I believe there is a strong connection between the mind and

that not only refreshes the body but also soothes the spirit,”
comments Khun Nikorn.
The Nakalay Spa is part of the upscale Thavorn Beach Village Resort
set a few kilometers north of Patong
Beach. The Thavorn family spared no expense at designing and
building one of the most beautiful health spas in Thailand.
There are various salas and treatment rooms. Some are for couples
who want to be together during their retreat. Special rooms have
outdoor jacuzzis set in tropical beauty and others have individual
saunas to clean the skin.
The Nakalay Spa features a full beauty salon here after a soothing
massage or body treatment, clients can have facials, hair and make
up services.
“I recommend to our guests that they choose among some of
the special packages we created to allow them to take full advantage
of therapies that are available,” continues Khun Nikorn. For
example, we have three 2 hour programs and three 3 hour treatments.”
The two hour treatments cost what a 30 minute massage might cost
in the West but include access to private outdoor jacuzzi and steam
or sauna. In addition, guests can choose from a combination of an
OPC/Antioxidant Body Polish, an Aromatherapy Full Body Massage,
an Aromatherapy Body Salt Glow, an Anti-Stress Head, Neck and Shoulder
Massage or a Siam Foot and Leg Massage.
The three hour treatments have additional services as a Deep Cleanse
Facial, the Ultimate Pampering Facial or a Nakalay Deluxe Massage
which features two massage therapists working on the body at the
same time in co-ordinated movements.
“I believe we are the only health and beauty spa which offers
the service of two massage therapists working on a body at once.
They have been trained to work moving healing energy around the
body which induces the guest against thinking and more towards relaxing,”
explains Khun Nikorn.
In addition to directing Spa operations, Khun Nikorn teaches yoga
and meditation each day to resort guests.
“I like to work with the Spa customers and also the massage
therapists so I better understand the physical and mental needs
that each guest brings with them,” he concludes.
“And of course I want to share my love of Thailand and our
healing traditions with our international clientele.”
