High over the excitement of Patong
Beach, sits the Hourglass Bar which has been the headquarters
for the groovy, funky music set since the Novotel
Patong Resort opened.
The Hourglass is the perfect spot for an after dinner drink with
friends before heading down into the noise and chaos of Soi Bangla
or the perfect spot to escape from the all that excitement. Whether
you're coming or going, the Hourglass Bar offers great drinks and
even better entertainment six nights a week.
John and the Party Line Band opened at The Hourglass last month
after a seven year engagement in the Palais de Monarch room at the
Monarch Lee Gardens Hotel in Bangkok.
John Gordon has a reputation around Asia for his upbeat music that
pleases any audience. He has had a great career playing in some
of the top resorts around the world.
After
leading bands in his native England, John headed to Asia over thirty
years ago where he entertained on the American military bases in
Vietnam. Since then he has worked in Japan, Hong
Kong, around the Pacific Basin but married and settled in Bangkok
in the 1980s where he played at the Peninsula and the Hilton.
His music is always in demand due to the great sense of fun he
shares with the audience and his versatility with the keyboards.
He is equally at home playing Duke Ellington as the Eagles. He's
there to please his guests.
Joining John at the Hourglass Bar is Phuket
favorite Bonnie Anderson whose cool jazzy blues keep this singer
busy entertaining guests around the island. Bonnie returns to the
Hourglass Bar by special request after a season at the Sheraton
Grande Laguna Beach.
Bonnie loves living in Phuket
and she wants to share her special message of love with her audience.
While Bonnie has sang her music at the Oriental
Bangkok, Sukothai
Hotel Bangkok, Regent
Bangkok and all the finer rooms in Bangkok, Phuket is her home
and where she wants to give her gifts to her special friends who
come to the Hourglass every Thursday through Saturday night.
