Miles Davis developed a cult following with his brilliant jazz
improvisations. His influence has even reached Phuket
where at Bee Bop Bistro, he has been etched high up on the walls
overlooking the island's hottest nighttime jazz scene.
Bee Bop Bistro is a welcome addition to a growing
club culture in Phuket Town. Both residents and visitors now have
a choice of rock, pop, country or jazz clubs in which to spend a
fun night. What sets Bee Bop Bistro apart from the others, is it's
the favorite hangout for the island's professional musicians who
play in the upscale five star resorts. Most of these well trained
and experienced musicians play popular international music in the
regular jobs but when they head downtown to Bee Bop, they can jam
and improvise and blow the music that really turns them on.
Customers can be seen tapping their feet to John
Coltrane or Oscar and Hammerstein or any music that gives that jazzy
feeling of the blues.
It's an exciting place where every night different
combinations of musicians take the stage to surprise and delight
the audience. The Bistro is intimate but boldly lit and decorated
like any jazz bar in New York or Sao Paolo.
Bee Bop Bistro is located a few doors down from
Phuket's
famous Ka Jok See restaurant and Baan Boran Antiques. It's on a
funky street with all the most happening people.
