News of good music travels fast on Phuket
and the latest news is the talent of two musicians who play in the
spacious lobby of the Banyan
Tree Phuket.
The resort has become world famous for its understated elegance
in the past few years. No loud bands here. Guests can have an evening
cocktail overlooking the lagoons and a stunning sunset with the
sweet sounds of lovely natural music in the background.
Dennis Villarin holds an acoustic guitar. He sings and plays his
music without electronic machines that can make all the sounds of
an entire orchestra. Dennis doesn't need all that. He only needs
his guitar and the lovely Siony Dilag standing near who accompanies
him with various percussion instruments as well as with her soft,
melodic voice. The duo are in demand around Asia and have been flown
to Europe for special parties but they are enjoying their engagement
at the Banyan Tree.
The couple plays their mix of popular love songs in the Terrace
Bar around sunset and then move to the Watercourt restaurant where
they serenade guests during dinner.
