Alissa Winkler has lived in Thailand
most of her life. Always interested in spiritual development and
man's relationship with the cosmos, she has collected an impressive
library of writings of the world's great spiritual teachers.
She lives in perhaps Phuket's
most beautiful property situated high on a hillside overlooking
Kamala Bay.
"When my husband, Khun Seri, decided to build me a home, I
decided that it should be a combination of a temple of the spirit
with a grand home which celebrates Thai architecture," Alissa
reports.
The result is stunning with various Thai themed buildings connected
by gardens and pools.
Alissa has recently decided to turn her retreat, Suriya Thani which
translated are the words sun and heaven, into a center for the healing
and spiritual arts.
Recently, she invited teachers from the Brahma Kumaris Raja Yoga
Foundation to deliver a three day workshop, "The Seven Keys
to Enlightenment", to those wanting to explore Eastern wisdom
while on holiday to Phuket.
"The Brahma Kumaris Raja Yoga Foundation has 4000 branches
in 70 countries and I find their teachings on how to unlock the
self from limitations to experience soul consciousness very important,"
she says. "But Suriya Thani is open to all spiritual paths
and those who want to explore universal love and personal development."
Alissa plans to transform her remarkable home into a retreat where
interested guests can participate in spiritual growth and development
workshops offered by the world's leading teachers in the field.
