Every Wednesday, the luxury liner, Super Star Gemini, arrives at
Patong Bay around 11am and excited passengers disembark for a day
of shopping and a night of enjoying Phuket's
legendary restaurants and entertainment. It's all part of a one
week program which leaves Singapore every Sunday at midnight and
returns seven days later at dawn.
During the seven day program, the cruise ship visits the major
destinations along the west coast of Malaysia
including Kuala
Lumpur and Pangkor Island before arriving to Phuket. On the
return journey, stops are made at Langkawi
and Penang
Islands and historic Malacca.
A special attraction is that customers can book passage on the
Phuket
to Singapore
leg and experience the comfort and luxury of a cruise on the Super
Star Gemini.
"This cruise is very special as clients can choose to stay
on board the ship or explore the various ports of call. There is
always lots of great food and the entertainment at night keeps people
dancing until the early hours," comments Khun Ouraul Paethong,
General Manager of Pacific Leisure Travel, agent for the Super Star
Gemini.
The cruise ship has eight decks with services as video arcade,
beauty and massage salon, disco and karaoke lounge as well as a
fitness center. There's swimming pools, children's center and rooms
to play cards or marjong. There are not enough hours in the day
to enjoy all the activities available on the Super Star Gemini.
But perhaps the best part is having the chance to explore the cultures
of the various stops on the cruise itinerary and retrace the path
of historic Portuguese, British and Chinese traders who made fortunes
by moving goods from this region.
